Axl “The Kid” Steele, born and raised on the Gulf Coast, discovered his passion for music early on as a member of his church youth choir—though his boundless energy eventually proved too much for the setting. At 15, he was introduced to country music and inspired by performers like Keith Urban to pursue life as an entertainer. By 18, Axl found his true calling in rock ’n’ roll, drawn to the raw energy of bands like Poison, Mötley Crüe, and Skid Row.
Axl takes great pride in every performance, driven by the belief that today’s audiences deserve the same electrifying, larger-than-life energy that defined the legendary rock shows of the past. His mission is to recreate that spirit—bringing nostalgia to longtime fans while giving new generations a taste of the unforgettable power of rock.

Aubrey “Jarrett” Layne
Born in Pensacola, Florida in the late ’90s and raised in the small rural town of Chumuckla, Aubrey Layne — known to most friends and family simply as “Jarrett” — grew up surrounded by the outdoors. Baseball, hunting, fishing, and painting filled much of his early life, but everything changed when he discovered a deep passion for music at the age of 11.
After nearly a year of convincing his mom, Jarrett received his very first guitar: a First Act acoustic from Target. From that moment on, the guitar rarely left his hands. Entirely self-taught, he has spent nearly two decades developing his craft, with 2026 marking 17 years of playing guitar.
His earliest musical influences came from two CDs his mother gave him as a child — Ozzy Osbourne and Toby Keith — introducing him to both hard rock energy and Southern storytelling. As he got older, bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Black Veil Brides would dramatically shape his playing style, stage presence, and visual aesthetic, pushing him toward the heavier, high-energy sound he’s known for today.
Growing up far from town made starting bands difficult, but Jarrett’s determination never faded. His first experience performing came through a Christian rock/metal project at his former church. The turning point came one Halloween night at age 16 when he met the band Coastal First. Two years later, he was invited to join the group, officially launching his journey into the local music scene.
On stage, Jarrett delivers an electrifying performance fueled by soaring solos, crushing rhythms, crowd interaction, and nonstop energy. Whether he’s locking into heavy riffs or stepping forward for a screaming lead break, he brings intensity and passion to every show. Off stage, he makes it a priority to connect with the fans who come out to support the band — because to him, the audience is everything.

Kurt Pfeiffer hails from St. Louis, Missouri, and has performed extensively across the United States. Since relocating to the Gulf Coast four years ago, he has made a significant impact with his distinctive style, creativity, and professionalism.
A true innovator, Kurt designed and built his own custom electronic drum kit, delivering an incredible sound and performance capabilities unmatched in the region. With experience in numerous successful bands, he brings precision timing, dynamic energy, and an engaging stage presence to Rockstarfish.
Passionate about delivering unforgettable shows, Kurt is committed to giving audiences an exciting, high-energy performance every time—regardless of venue or crowd size. While he meticulously tailors his drum sound to each environment, his primary focus remains on maintaining a rock-solid groove that keeps the dance floor moving all night long.
